Library Learning Commons
Welcome to the RAS Library!
Ready to support you in your research, projects, and learning adventures!
Forget the old image of libraries as quiet rooms filled only with books. Today’s libraries are vibrant hubs of learning, creativity, and community. At RAS, our Library Learning Commons is designed to be full of life and possibility — a place where students can read, collaborate, explore new technologies, create original content, and grow as learners. This is not just a place to borrow books, but a space to imagine, experiment, and share ideas.
Everyone is welcome, and everyone has the opportunity to learn, make mistakes, and discover something new.

What do we learn about in the library?
Reading is, of course, SUPER important to us here in the library! While we encourage reading and provide access to awesome books for every reader, we are not reading teachers. So what do we teach? See the full set of standards for library learners below, but the gist is… we teach kids how to find and use information, otherwise known as information literacy! We also want to empower kids to combine information literacy skills with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) while using the engineering design process to create and share their learning.
