Board Overview

The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in overseeing the governance and strategic direction of the school. It sets policies that align with the school’s mission and values, ensures financial stability through budget approval, and financial oversight, and holds the school’s leadership accountable for achieving the institution’s goals. The Board is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and managing risks to protect the school’s reputation and assets. It also oversees the physical infrastructure and facilities, ensuring they meet educational needs and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Board advocates for the school within the broader community, fostering relationships with external stakeholders and supporting the school’s commitment to accreditation and quality education. Ultimately, the Board ensures the school stays true to its mission, offering a high-quality, student-centered education that values cultural diversity, fosters inclusivity, and promotes a global perspective in a safe and supportive environment.

Board Committees

Members work collaboratively to oversee key areas such as finance, policy & governance, institutional advancement, and facilities, ensuring the school’s continued growth and alignment with its mission.

Finance Committee

The Board’s Finance Committee oversees the school’s financial health, including budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation, ensuring sound financial management and long-term sustainability.
RAS Story

Institutional Advancement Committee

The Board's IAC supports the school’s mission by providing strategic direction, oversight, and resources for fundraising, alumni relations, marketing, and communications. The IAC committee will work to enhance the school’s visibility, reputation, and financial sustainability.

Facilities Committee

The Board’s Facilities Committee oversees the maintenance, development, and improvement of the school’s physical infrastructure, ensuring that the campus meets the needs of the community.

Roles & Responsibility

Here are some of the primary roles and responsibilities undertaken by the Board of Trustees

Sustainability

Ensure the school’s long-term viability through fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and a strong focus on sustainability and optimization.

Board & Director Collaboration

Hire and evaluate a Director to oversee the school’s daily operations, providing support and fostering opportunities for growth to ensure RAS delivers a high-quality education for students. The Director will maintain RAS as an employer of choice, offering a dynamic, supportive environment that attracts and retains exceptional faculty and staff.

Policies & Procedures

Establish effective policies, streamlined procedures, and state of the art facilities to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for RAS students and staff.

Financial Oversight

Approve the budget and provide financial oversight to ensure responsible fiscal management, with a focused allocation of resources toward enhancing learning and creating opportunities for growth.

Meet The Board

Nine voting Trustees are elected or appointed for three-year terms by the association membership. Non-voting members of the Board include an Honorary member, the Director, the PTA President, the Faculty Representative, and a US Ambassador-appointed representative.
